Preview BK Motocross Axel, Monday May 21
Organizer AMC Evergem and collaborating team MC Mikkola have already signed for their second organization of the season and are now hoping for more support from the riders who failed massively in the first organization in Lommel.
The Belgian Championship is ready for the fourth test of the season on Pentecost Monday. The meeting place is the complete renewed circuit of Axel. None other than Steve Ramon and Jeffrey Dewulf designed this new circuit. The sand hares get their penultimate chance to score optimally in Axel.
In the 250 class, major successes have already been achieved by the trio Mark Boot, Daymond Martens and especially the surprising ones Tim Louis have already scored top points, which has already closed the gap. Erik Willems lost valuable points at the start of the season and will have to do everything they can to be among the top three. Mark Boot rides on his home circuit in Axel and is therefore put forward as the top favorite.
Strongest Belgian field of participants to date
There were a lot of injuries in the 500 class at the start of the championship, but now most of them seem to be up to standard. Dietger Damiaens leads the dance Roy Sillien but in Lommel another duo entered the fray. Yentel martens is finally injury free and almost in top form. Also Nathan Renkens will travel straight to Axel after the German GP. Also the Galvin Cup leader Roy Van Heugten will be present on his Yamaha 450 cc and will also bring a whole bunch of KNMV riders. Also the one that reappeared in Belgium Robin Bakens will make its long-awaited comeback on Monday. If we can believe the corridors, so would the trio Ken De Dycker, Jeffrey Dewulf en Damon Graulus will be at the start in Axel on Monday, which means we could see the strongest field of participants of the season so far this year!
The other categories also all participate in two series for the Belgian Championship and the organizer also provided one cooperation with the friendly MCLB federation which means that these riders can also participate in Axel with their own license and even qualify for the prize money through the gesture of the organization. A number of guest drivers have already been registered, so many will make their debut at the highest level on Whit Monday. Anyone can still register on site.
The riders' park opens its doors on Sunday afternoon from 16.00 p.m. and the first training sessions take place at 09.00 a.m. as is the time-honored tradition in Axel. The RES-Axel parking regulations are of course also in force again this weekend.
