Off-weekend for Wannes van de Voorde and F4E Racing
For the third round of the EMX125, the new F4E Racing team completed one of the furthest moves of the season. Due to an unfortunate set of circumstances, the match in Kegums unfortunately did not deliver the hoped-for results. In the championship, Mario Lucas is still the best placed F4 Racing driver, he is currently tied for tenth.
Had to go through knee problems Kjell Verbruggen were also sidelined last weekend, but due to the arrival of James Scott, the team entered Latvia with three drivers.
Wannes van de Voorde was referred to the resit after less time training. The F4E Racing driver took the holeshot, then had to give up some positions but ultimately qualified fifth. Wannes missed regularity in the heats, which meant he did not score.
Although Mario Lucas couldn't set a real fast lap in the qualifying session, but he still had a reasonable feeling on the sandy track. In the first heat he still finished 13th after a bad startde. The final race became a frustrating experience for the promising Spaniard. Due to a fallen rider, Lucas has to anchor deeply and can only start his race as one of the last. Even in heavy traffic, Mario records decent lap times, reaching 18de ascends place. Unfortunately, the #771 KTM rider crashed early, as his bike no longer starts, Lucas has to leave the field.
James Scott: “I wasn't in a good position in the qualifying and I never really got into the flow. Too bad about my DNF in the first moto because I was in the top 10 at the start. The start in the second heat was like riding the bumper cars at the fair! Immediately after the gate fell I came into contact with another rider and in the bend it happened again. Nothing to write about, but in Germany we are back to work! ”
Mario Lucas: “It was a strange weekend for me. The course was very difficult and difficult to estimate. Although the feeling was not great, I was still able to come back well in the first series. In the second moto it was the other way around. The feeling was better, but unfortunately I finished the race without any points. I am looking forward to Teutschenthal, normally this is a job that should suit me better.”
Wannes from De Voorde: “Overall it certainly wasn't great. I made too many mistakes and if the differences are as small as here it will be difficult to come back. In the second moto I had a good start, but due to a crash I was unable to take full advantage of it. In terms of points, it was, as they say, 'not a great one', but I did learn a lot.”
