Mill ready for thrilling third DMofMX on May 6.
Sunday May 6 is a treat for the true motocross enthusiast. Then the best motocross riders in the world come to Circuit Park De Kuilen in Mill for the third round of the Dutch Masters of Motocross (DMofMX). A clash between top national riders from the ONK (Open Dutch Championship) and the world top riders from the MXGP. Among them of course our own Jeffrey Herlings, leader in the 500cc intermediate classification of both DMoMX and MXGP, and Glenn Coldenhoff.
Naturally, all eyes will be on Herlings on Sunday, but there is much more to enjoy. With more than 250 drivers at the start, divided into four classes, the 'Masters' in Mill offer plenty of fireworks and exciting races. The day program starts at 08.30:85 am with the training of the 125cc, followed by 250, 500 and XNUMX cc.
MEET & GREET WITH MXGP WORLD TOPS
The heats start at 11.30:85 am. In the afternoon, at the end of the second round of the 15.00cc, there will be a Meet & Greet in the riders' quarters around 500 p.m. with six world top riders from the MXGP world championship. Here fans receive a poster with autograph from the hands of their XNUMXcc heroes: Jeffrey Herlings (NL), Glenn Coldenhoff (NL), Romain Febvre (F), Max Anstie (GB), Shaun Simpson (GB) and Jeremy Seewer (CH ).
THE HUNT FOR HERLINGS
The fans can look forward to razor-sharp racing on Sunday. Jeffrey Herlings is comfortably in the lead in the 500cc, but with the hot breath of his two French pursuers Gautier Paulin and Romain Febvre on his neck, he cannot afford to make any mistakes. The differences behind the two Frenchmen are also not unbridgeable, especially for the upcoming British Shaun Simpson and Max Anstie. The 500cc drivers will have to push themselves to the limit to defend or improve their ranking.
UNBELIEVABLE EXCITING
In the other classes the battle is even more exciting. The Belgian Jago Geerts leads the way in the 250cc, followed only eight points by the Australian Jed Beaton. He, in turn, is only five points ahead of our Calvin Vlaanderen. There is also a lot of pressure behind his third place and so the title battle in this class has not yet been decided. The differences in the 125cc are even smaller. The Swede Filip Olsson leads the rankings with 72 points, only two more than numbers 2 and 3, our Raf Meeuwissen and the Swede Emil Weckman, who have exactly the same number of points. Even in this fiercely contested class, anything is still possible in Mill!
YOUNG DOGS
The top three in the 85cc are still a Dutch affair. Kay de Wolf leads these young dogs with 20 points ahead of teammate Scott Smulders and 22 ahead of Youth Pro MX rider Kay Karssemakers. These drivers also have to be careful, because the competition in this entry-level class is fierce. With a full program and a very strong field of participants, the Dutch Masters of Motocross in Mill has everything for an unforgettable motocross spectacle. So be there on Sunday, May 6!
