Joshua van der Linden finally wins the day.
He was often close, but the unlucky devil managed to catch up with him time and time again. On the second day of Pentecost in Venlo, Joshua van der Linden was even too fast for the unlucky devil. With a second and first place, the Galvin MX Team rider managed to win the race in Venlo. The KTM rider managed to stay ahead of teammate Mike van den Bogaert (1-5), the podium was completed by Rene Albers (5-2). In the Women's category, the victory went to Lakerveld Racing, Amber Simons won both heats with the Van de Laar-Yamaha!
First heat
It was Mike van den Bogaert who had the best start in the first moto. He was followed by Jacky Tausch (Elshout), René Albers and Davey Janssen (Gemert). After three laps it was Jaap Corneth (Baarlo) who came on strong and took over second place from Tausch. Joshua van der Linden had to come back from midfield and started knocking on the door of the top 5. Corneth started to drop halfway through the heat. It was Tausch, Albers, Janssen and van der Linden who passed him. Janssen also passed Tausch and Albers and was now in second place. Van der Linden continued to drive the fastest lap times of the five and he passed Tausch, Albers and Janssen and moved into second place behind van den Bogaert.
Van den Bogaert could no longer be traced and won the round ahead of van der Linden, Janssen, Tausch and Albers.
Second heat
The best starters in the second heat were Corneth, Tausch and Janssen. Behind this trio, the Galvin team, with van den Bogaert, Ronnie van Rooij (Bladel), van der Linden and Lakerveld racing rider Rico Lommers (Heusden) opened the hunt for the leaders. The first victim was Janssen who lost three places in one lap. Corneth dropped out on the fifth lap and now Hannamax rider Tausch took the lead. On the ninth lap it was van der Linden who passed Tausch and took the lead. Meanwhile, it was Albers who was making progress from behind and entered the top 5. Van Rooij passed Tausch and took over second place. However, it was Albers who passed Rooij on the last lap to cross the finish line second behind van der Linden. Van Rooij finished third ahead of Tausch and van den Bogaert who had dropped to fifth place.
Henk Pater was the winner of the day at the MX 2 inters. He finished ahead of Levi Schoonderbeek and Maikel van Balen.
