F4E Racing joins forces with promising Kiwi James Scott!
The ambitious F4E Racing welcomed James Scott to Belgium last week. The 16-year-old New Zealander will make his competition debut for the team on Sunday during the Dutch Masters of Motocross in Mill. Scott, who previously raced in the EMX150, will start his campaign in the EMX125 on May 12 and 13 during the MXGP of Latvia.
The new teammate of Kjell Verbruggen, Wannes van de Voorde and Mario Lucas actually wanted to come to Europe earlier. However, because James broke his arm at the end of January during the “New Zealand Motocross Grand Prix” in Woodville, he had to exercise some patience and was forced to miss the first EMX125 laps.
In the meantime, the protégé of the former MX2 world champion is sitting Ben Townley back on the bike for a few weeks. In his own country, the driver from Oparau is considered a great promise. Last year he became New Zealand vice-champion in the 125cc, in 2016 he took the 85cc title. Last winter I rode a lot together with Liam Everts, who followed an extensive internship with Townley in New Zealand.
During his EMX150 participations in 2016, the talented 'Kiwi' reached the top 5 in Teuschenthal and finished second in Matterley Basin in one heat. However, due to a shoulder dislocation in the EMX150 round of Lommel, he had to end his European adventure prematurely.
James Scott: “In fact, the intention was always to return to Europe. It was just waiting for the right offer. I'm glad that came about with F4E Racing! We can't talk about the EMX125 championship anymore, of course, because I couldn't participate in the first two rounds. My ambition is certainly to show myself and to win races. The first competition in Mill will really be a warm-up for me, I am still lacking some competition rhythm and I am certainly not a sand specialist. Sand is definitely not my favorite surface, but I am also here to get better on those types of courses.”
