Enduro: Hawkstone Park switches to WESS!
Musical chairs in the enduro world because the cross country race in Hawkstone Park that was planned as the British EnduroGP is moving camps! Hawkstone Park will be the eighth race in the WESS, World Enduro Super Series.
The Hawkstone Park round of the WESS will take place on September 22 and 23, a few weeks after the Red Bull Megawatt in Poland. On November 20, the very first WESS championship will be held close to home with the Red Bull Knock Out in Scheveningen!
Perhaps the withdrawal of Hawkstone Park is a blessing in disguise for the Enduro World Championship. In Moto Club Mazanais (Vaucluse) a club was found willing to replace the GP. Since there was no French GP on the calendar yet - and given the importance of France as a major enduro country - this is certainly an interesting evolution.
Because the short preparation makes it impossible to set up a classic enduro, a cross-country competition concept has also been chosen in France. Interesting detail: both the French GP and the British WESS round will both take place on the weekend of September 22 and 23!
