EMX: Liam Everts remains ahead of the Dutch again.
The second match of the European Championship 85cc North-West was won by Liam Evert. The Belgian (photo) managed to finish first and second on the former GP circuit near Helsinki. On this sand circuit, father knew Stefan Everts winning the Finnish 1993cc GP in 250, the last victory of 'The Legend' on a Suzuki. Second place in the daily standings went to the Yamaha rider Dave Kooiker (3-3) followed by compatriot Kay Karssemakers (7-1). Everts takes the lead in the standings Kay the Wolf, the Brabander finished fourth in Vantaa. Only recently back on the bike after a broken collarbone, Jens Walvoort (10-20) managed to score in both rounds. Compatriot Romano Aspers only scores the first heat with a 14th place. Belgian Yoran Moens crosses the finish line in 18th place in the first heat.
