Courtney Duncan is very strong in Teutschenthal!
In Teutschenthal the women also took action. The championship has many contenders, but one of the big favorites for the title is Courtney Duncan, and this girl now returned to the course where she lost all chances two seasons ago by crashing with a photographer.
Courtney Duncan did not seem to have much trouble in her head about what had happened in the past on the Teutschenthal course. The New Zealander took the holeshot, but it was soon the Italian Kiara Fontanesi who took the lead. However, both ladies cannot beat each other for anything. As the race progressed and slower pilots had to be doubled, we saw Courtney Duncan taking more risks. As a result, she crept onto the rear mudguard of the Italian, ready for an ultimate attack that would eventually come with three laps to go. Kiara Fontanesi tried to answer this by cutting off the track, but to no avail. Courtney Duncan won the first heat ahead of Kiara Fontanesi and Nancy van de Ven. The Dutch rider, in turn, had managed to keep the German Suzuki pilot Larissa Papenmeier behind her throughout the entire race in an interesting duel. It was this Suzuki pilot who finished fourth ahead of Stephanie Laier.
At the start of the second heat we again saw Courtney Duncan take the holeshot. But unlike the first match, which the women contested on Saturday, the New Zealander did not let anyone get past her. Josh Coppins' group rode to the finish with a fifteen-second lead and took the double. Her second double after already achieving this in Portugal. Just like in the first heat, second place went to Kiara Fontanesi ahead of Larissa Pepenmeier. After a few laps in the race, this German Suzuki pilot managed to prove herself superior to Nancy van de Ven and also stayed ahead of the Dutch rider. Sara Andersen completed the top five and in sixth place we saw a great performance from Shana van der Vlist, who with her ninth place from the first heat is immediately good for eighth place in the overall result of the German Grand Prix.
The Belgian motocross candidate for GP podiums in the WMX event Amandine Verstappen had a very mediocre to disastrous weekend with a zero score and a tenth place in the second round. Lynn Valk gained useful experience and finished twelfth in the total standings with 13 points. Stephanie Stoutjesdijk scored no points.
