BREAKING: Team Ottobiano Racing closes its doors
We received confirmation from various sources that Ottobiano Racing Husqvarna is discontinuing it. The team of Brent Van Doninck and Iker Laranaga will complete its last Grand Prix this weekend in Teutschenthal. After tax malpractice and a hefty fine, the team led by Niki Rossoto got into trouble.
Since the Ottobiano circuit and the team are two separate companies, fortunately the existence of the circuit is not threatened. The Ottobiano Racing team, or 8Biano Racing team, will be disbanded. Founded at the end of 2015 as a collaboration between Ottbiano and Massignani Racing, Ottobiano achieved its most impressive results last year with Tanel Leok who finished 15th in the MXGP World Championship.
Iker Laranaga would be placed in another team by Husqvarna/KTM. In all likelihood, this would be STC Racing Husqvarna - the team that Henri Jacobi rides for - although Diga Procross Husqvarna or VHR KTM are also possible. In any case, the 21-year-old Spaniard would find shelter.
Ordered before Brent Van Doninck the situation is less positive. Van Doninck is also having a difficult season due to injuries. For now, it doesn't seem like Brent has a new team yet. More news will follow later.
