BK: Jeffrey Dewulf strikes in Axel!
Home rider Jeffrey Dewulf was outstanding on the renovated RES Axel circuit. The Motorshop Desmet KTM rider won both heats, but in the super exciting series that was not easy! Roy van Heugten and Dietger Damiaens finished second and third respectively.
Although not all the hoped-for riders actually make an appearance just across the Dutch border, some nice names were present at the Inters. After Jeffrey Dewulf passed leader Robin Bakens in the first moto, the way was open to an undisputed victory. There was quite a battle behind “JD123”. Nathan Renkens, who was initially in third position, unfortunately had to leave due to engine trouble. However, the trendsetters of the series came from deeper in the field. Van Heugten rose from just inside the top 10 to second place. A poorly started Dietger Damiaens ended up third, just a few seconds behind Van Heugten.
BK leader Dietger Damiaens did well in the revival. The fast Limburger led the dance for four rounds, but then Dewulf put things in order. It certainly did not result in a walkover. After two poor rounds by Jeffrey, Van Heugten and Damiaens saw their chance! Dietger did everything he could to beat Roy but ultimately had to bow his head.
Inters 250c: Mark Boot anyway
Mikkola Racing rider Mark Boot did an excellent job today. Boot won the two heats and took over the lead in the Belgian championship from Daymond Martens. Martens was joined on stage by Tim Louis and Bryan Engelen. In the Nationals 250, Tallon Verhelst and Jarni Kooij kept each other in balance, but Tallon took the overall victory with his victory in the final series.
