Billy Bolt wins first ever WESS round in Portugal!
The Extreme XL Lagares not only has a great reputation in the hard enduro scene, it was also the opening round of the very first WESS “World Enduro Super Series” championship this year. A driven Billy Bolt, the rising star of hard enduro and vice world champion of SuperEnduro, took victory in Portugal for Jonny Walker, Manuel Lettenbichler and Taddy Blazusiak.
Graham Jarvis, the three-time winner of the Extreme XL Lagares, again started as one of the top favorites. Jarvis built up his race well and appeared in a good starting position for today's two long hard enduro rounds. Just when push came to shove, Graham hurt his leg. The best hard enduro rider ever finished fifth despite his injury.
Bolt won the spectacular Endurocross test ahead of Jonny Walker on Friday. The next day the roles were reversed in the legendary urban prologue in the center of Porto. But Billy also managed to distinguish himself in endurance work. The spectacular Brit was second after the first lap and then went all out on the attack.
