Raf Belmans in the rags
Bouwelnaar Raf Belmans (29) rode into the spotlight last winter in the French beach races. For example, he achieved a nice 24th place in Loon. After a difficult adjustment period and some bad luck, the MX Topshop Kawasaki also started to gain steam in the VLM. However, in the second round of the race in Molenbeersel, Raf hurt his knee. The balance is difficult because Belmans will have to go under the knife.
In the VLM Inters 500cc championship Raf Belmans currently thirteenth and in Olmen he took his first top 10 of the season. Unfortunately, the #32 Kawa will be out of circulation for a while.
“I was working hard to get the best out of myself again in the VLM competitions, but disaster struck in the second round in Molenbeersel. The knee was seriously damaged, my cruciate ligament and meniscus were torn. I'm having surgery next week. I know I have a long recovery ahead of me but I want to come back stronger! My goal is to be ready for the winter of 2018/2019,” said Raf.
MXMag wishes Raf a lot of strength in his rehabilitation and a full and speedy recovery.
