Raivo Dankers in top form in ADAC!
Raivo Dankers has started the ADAC 125cc Cup very strongly. On the sand circuit of Fürstlich Drehna, the rider from Heesch managed to win both heats, making him the leader in the standings.
The feeling on the track was immediately good and this ensured that he managed to set good times in the training sessions on Saturday. A third fastest time in timed training ensured that he secured a good starting place in both heats and that his confidence was good.
A reasonably good start in the first moto allowed him to start the race around fifth place. The rhythm was right immediately so that he could start to advance. In the middle of the race he entered the top three and started to put pressure on the two leaders. He also managed to pass these two riders with some nice overtaking maneuvers, allowing him to win the first round.
In the second moto Dankers had to come forward from further back. From around seventh place he started to make progress and started to make up places. On the increasingly difficult circuit, he quickly managed to work his way up to second place and started to close the gap to the leader. He quickly came closer and quickly managed to take over the lead. Because the second man did not simply give in, a nice fight ensued in which both riders changed positions several times. After a few laps Raivo resolutely took the lead and started to walk away. Because he managed to keep the pace tight until the finish, he was still able to win the race with a safe lead.
With a double heat victory, Raivo is the first leader in the ADAC 125 Cup. The championship continues on May 27 at the Mölln circuit, but before that, Raivo will compete in the third race of the KNMV Dutch Masters of Motocross in Mill on May 6.
