New MXGP Pro video game presented!
On the occasion of the Trentino GP, Italian publisher Milestone announced MXGP Pro, a new edition of the well-known MXGP video game. On Friday, June 29, MXGP Pro will be launched for Playstation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC/Steam. Given the large number of innovations, MXGP Pro can safely be seen as a revolution.
MXGP Pro was introduced to the world yesterday with the slogan “Live the motocross experience like never before!” Loosely translated: Experience motocross like never before. Meanwhile, MXGP Pro is the fifth generation of the MXGP game. Where “Mud”, the first edition of the game, was much more of a fun arcade game, MXGP Pro aims for the most realistic experience possible. By imitating the lifelike behavior of motorcycles, riders and circuits, Milestone now comes with a high-level simulator game.
Those who just want to play a quick game will still be able to do so. For true fans and those who ride themselves, MXGP Pro promises a treasure trove of details and a realistic experience. Although the experience of all previous editions was included in the new game, MXGP Pro adds a new soul by:
– A new system to adjust the engine. Players can now choose every adjustment parameter themselves based on real data.
– Racing as it really is: you can also perform subtle driving techniques that top riders use, such as scrubs and whips. But driving mistakes are also punished mercilessly!
– Extremely realistic movements of both the riders and the behavior of the bikes and also how the track changes.
We were able to play the game ourselves in Arco di Trento for a while. The game looks magical and the game play itself has also improved enormously. This also increased the difficulty level, which of course makes the challenge even greater.
YouthStream Vice President David Luongo: “We actually grew up with Milestone together. Little by little it has become much more realistic, the game is increasingly approaching reality. And Milestone has also grown considerably in recent years. From a small family business it has now grown into one important player in their market. The MXGP video game is a very important showroom for the MXGP World Championship because everything is one to one as people know it, the real circuits, the real bikes, the real GP pilots and their equipment. Milestone has also regularly sent people to races to record circuits, take loads of photos, scan riders and so on. We are very proud of the result of all that work!”
Andrea Loiudice, Milestone marketing manager: “This year we wanted to do it a little differently. We didn't feel like just making an MXGP 4! We wanted to make it even more realistic to let people really experience what it is like to drive in a GP. The physics of the game and the drivers were rewritten. You can also adjust the engine and see the difference it makes on the track. To get better input, we turned to three of the biggest riders in the world with Tony Cairoli, Tim Gajser and Gautier Paulin. Thanks to their feedback, the game has become even more real in terms of look and feel!”
Tony Cairoli: “I look a little fat in the game (laughs). No seriously, it all looks incredibly slick. And this MXGP Pro version takes everything to a new level. You feel the differences yourself when you make changes to the engine, for example. Milestone is doing a very important job for motocross in general with this game. Every edition is better and better, so I am happy that I was able to contribute to this.”
Tim Gajser: “It's really cool to work with the makers of MXGP Pro. I did a race here on the PlayStation yesterday in Arco di Trento and it looks identical to what it really is. In Pro mode you can't just go full throttle everywhere. For example, before a big jump you have to slow down a bit to avoid jumping too far. That level of simulation makes everything even closer to reality.”
Gautier Paulin: “I think it's really great to have a cool video game about motocross! This is also important to introduce the sport to people who do not drive themselves. That way they can get to know motocross. It is incredibly important for the image of the sport to have such a business card. Every major sport has its own video game and with MXGP Pro we are in that list. I have learned that it is a titanic job to make such a game, so respect for the people at Milestone. In fact, it is not just the riders but the entire motocross sector that benefits from the fact that there is such a great game about our sport!”
