KNMV: Kay Ebben wins in front of the home crowd.
The dress rehearsal for the third KNMV Dutch Masters of Motocross next week went well. Both MSC Mill-Aldendriel as a Kay In this look back on a successful day. The Millse motorcycle club had a good competition day and can put the finishing touches to next week's DMofMX. Ebben completed his business card by adding the ONK 250cc to his name. Ebben came first and third and that gave him the victory of the day. In the 500cc the victory went to Sven van der Mierden which thus increases the lead in the standings of the ONK.
250cc:
Ebben takes the lead in the first moto, but according to Jakob he sees Kjer Nielsen passing. The Dane from Schepers Racing manages to hold the lead in the first half, but then Ebben comes back. The cross rider from Wilbertoord wins ahead of Dani de Vries who manages to make big steps, especially in the second half of the race. In the last lap the Yamaha rider managed to get past the Swede Rasmus Hakansson.
The Spaniard Simeo Sala-Ubach comes out best at the start of the second round. In the first lap Cyril Genot takes the lead and never relinquishes it. Hakansson, from Herman Seesink's Team Pro Grip-MX United, is now second ahead of Ebben. With this, Ebben wins the daily ranking ahead of Hakansson and De Vries.
500cc:
Former GP rider Santtu Tiainen takes the best start and manages to hold it for about ten minutes. Then Van der Mierden passes by, but the Yamaha rider crashes a lap later. Van Berkel bites the Finn but he does not bend. The rider from Veghel crashes and Van der Mierden still manages to win in the final phase. Tiainen comes second just ahead of Roy van Heugten.
In the second heat, Van Berkel has the lead for the entire race. However, it is not an easy race for the SKS Racing driver because Van Heugten and Van der Mierden follow close behind. When the 25 minutes of the race are almost over, Van der Mierden attacks the Modiform rider, but that goes wrong! Van Brabander falls and loses connection with the duo in front of him. Van Berkel wins the second round ahead of Van Heugten and the Hutten Metaal rider Van der Mierden finishes third.
