Successful operation for Jeff Vanhoof
VLM Juniors MX1 champion Jeff Vanhoof injured his knee this weekend in Olmen. During a fall, the anterior cruciate ligament tore while the medial ligament tore in half. Yesterday, however, the 18-year-old Kempen resident underwent successful surgery.
During the second round of the National 500, Jeff already felt that something was wrong. Both the serious injury and the disappointing match in Honda Park hit Vanhoof hard. Fortunately, yesterday there was a more positive sound.
"The operation went well, they removed a (useless) tendon from my leg. That is what the new cruciate ligament is made of,” Jeff explains. “I have no pain, and I already feel some mobility. Everything will be fine and the knee will become stronger than before! Now follows the long rehabilitation, perhaps I will have some "maintenance work" (including elbow and varicose veins) carried out on myself now that I have time. Thank you to everyone for your concern and support!” MXMag wishes Jeff an excellent recovery.
