Cautiously positive news for Thomas Covington
After hurting his knee in the first moto of the Portuguese GP, Thomas Covington decided not to start in the second moto. Yesterday he went to the hospital for an MRI scan. The first indications seemed to be good for the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna rider.
Thomas Covington said: “Finally some news from the doctor today. Fortunately, I only tore the meniscus and the anterior cruciate ligament of the left knee was partially torn. Not the best news, but it could have been worse! Hopefully the knee is strong enough to ride the next round in Russia.” Covington, who did not compete in spring races due to his knee injury suffered in the MXoN, was just starting to gain steam. He stood on the podium for the first time in Arco di Trento where he also won a round.
The next Grand Prix will take place on April 31 and May 1 in Orlyonok, Russia.
