Arne Dierckens/Luc Rostingt win the Belgian Championships in Lommel
Arne Dierckens and his French driver Luc Rostingt have won the second round of the Belgian sidecar cross championship in Lommel. Coming second was Luchene/Van den Boogaart, who thus strengthened their leading position in the Belgian sidecar championship. In third place, the young Dutchman Julian Veldman and his baking player Glenn Janssens were allowed to command the stage.
There were only five sidecars present for this second round of the Belgian Sidecar Cross Championships. While it was actually shameful in terms of quantity, in terms of quality there was nothing to complain about for the audience present with only World Cup (sub) top players at the start.
The first heat would be very exciting and was ultimately won by Dierckens/Rostingt who just managed to keep Veldman/Janssens away. Vanluchene came in at third just behind, with Santermans at four and Closhe/Van Hal crossed the line at five within ten seconds of the winners.
During the second heat, Marvin van Luchene/Ben van den Boogaart showed why they have the leading position in both the World Cup and the Belgian Championship. The 'Blue squad' managed to win the race in the heavy sand of Lommel with a lead of almost half a minute. Second came Dierckens/Rostingt, who then became first in the day's results. Once again Veldman was in the wake of Dierckens and now finished third. Just like in the first round, we saw Santermans/Beleckas in fourth with Closhe/Van Hal in fifth.
