Sidecar cross rider Hans Garritsen died after a fatal training accident
We are deeply shocked to inform you that sidecar cross racer Hans Garritsen from Hengelo (GLD) died this afternoon after a fatal accident at the Vennebulten circuit near Varsseveld where he was completing a training session.
Hans Garritsen was a flamboyant figure on the sidecarcross paddock and was a fanatical national sidecar rider who won the Dutch national championship together with Rik Wiegerink at the MON in 2013. Garritsen also defended the colors of the Netherlands during the European IMBA sidecar cross championship during his career as a motocross rider.
In addition to driving the sidecar himself, Garritsen was also one of the first sponsors of team Hermans, which has now reached the top of the Sidecar Cross World Cup thanks to his dedicated help.
The entire national and international sidecarcross world reacted with shock to the terrible news that unfolded late in the afternoon of this Black Saturday.
The entire editorial staff of MXmag wishes family, friends and team members of Hans Garritsen a lot of strength in the coming period!!!
