VLM: Kristof Salaets out of action with a broken collarbone
Veteran Kristof Salaets (MX Topshop Kawasaki) was not lucky yesterday. Salaets crashed in front of the jury bus at the waves during the first heat in Vorselaar. He suffered a broken collarbone.
Kristof was doing well. After all, he was immediately on the podium during the opening competition in Houthalen-Helchteren. After his fall, Stoffel drove to the hospital in Herentals on his own. However, the operation will take place on Wednesday. Kristof Salaets: “As unfortunate as it is, something like this is unfortunately part of it. I was indeed doing well. I felt good and I have had an excellent winter.”
It is not yet clear how long Salaets will have to remain sidelined. In any case, MXMag wishes the sympathetic Kawasaki pilot a speedy recovery!
