The second home GP for KEMEA Racing-Yamaha.
After the opening race in Neuquen, Argentina, two weeks ago, the Motocross World Championship returns to Europe. First stop on the old continent: the Eurocircuit in Valkenswaard, where the riders are presented with a sandy course. For the Limburg KEMEA Racing-Yamaha a Grand Prix that is circled in red. There are only 50 kilometers between Kemea's workshop and the Eurocircuit. “So, after Lommel, it is kind of our second home race,” team boss Hans Corvers agrees. “Many fans, sponsors, acquaintances and family will come and watch. It is the first time this year that they can see our three boys at work in a GP.”
The Kemea riders immediately performed strongly in the MX2 in both the Argentine GP and the Dutch Martens in Markelo. “Very nice of course, but above all we have to keep our feet on the ground. We shouldn't expect too much now. There is still a lot of work to be done,” Corvers emphasizes.

“Unfortunately, I don't have very good memories of Valkenswaard. Last year I suffered a serious shoulder injury after being hit by someone. That cost me the entire season. Still, I don't go to the Eurocircuit with fear. On the contrary, I'm looking forward to it: I want to take another step forward.”

“I live in Balen, barely 30 kilometers from Valkenswaard. Even though it is in a different country, I still see this race as my second home race. I find it an extra incentive that many people come to see me. My goal? Wow, 2018 is a learning year, I just have to keep building. Top 10, like in Argentina, would be nice again.”

“I like the Eurocircuit. I have achieved quite good results in Valkenswaard in the past. After the good opening round in Argentina, I am also going there with a lot of confidence. This Grand Prix is important to our team because it is so close to our workhouse. But they certainly don't put any extra pressure on us from the team. Nothing is mandatory, everything is allowed.”
Marnicq Bervoets Team Manager
“Argentina turned out very well. Better than we expected. But we must now be careful not to set the bar too high, too quickly. Although we are of course secretly hoping for a repeat of Argentina. Especially in Valkenswaard, which is a bit of a home race for our team. But we must not unnecessarily increase the pressure on our drivers.”
