MXGP: The injury list for the GP in Red Sand!
The Grand Prix at Red Sand will see the return of Zach Pichon and if all goes well we should also see Anton Gole make his return behind the starting gates in the MX2 class. The same applies to the Italian Simone Furlotti who is also back on the participants list after resuming motorcycle training a few weeks ago. Also there after their hits last week are Bas Vaessen and Jeremy Van Horebeek. Hopefully both lowlanders are not too bothered by what happened to them in Valkenswaard. You can consult the previous injury lists on this link.

Tommy Searle – Broken collarbone – May 1 GP of Russia
During the Grand Prix of Valkenswaard, the British Tommy Searle crashed into the Russian reinforced concrete that Evgeny Bobryshev calls at the start. The DRT-Kawasaki pilot broke his left collarbone. He is expected to make his return after a four-week recovery period. This means that a return during the Portuguese Grand Prix is not excluded, but that the Grand Prix in Russia on May 1 seems to us to be a more realistic schedule.

Milko Potisek – Double ankle fracture – inactivity unknown
The Frenchman and winner of Le Touquet in 2018 had a serious crash during the second round of the Grand Prix in Valkenswaard. Over the finish jump he came into contact with Sven van der Mierden and the rest is history. Sven van der Mierden escaped unscathed, but Milko Potisek suffered a double ankle fracture. We do not know which side, left or right. As with many press releases, this detail is missing.
Jordi Tixier: Torn tendon in the right wrist – April 8 GP Trentino
The Frenchman, who will compete for the brand new BOS team this year, felt pain in his wrist while riding in Hawkstone Park, as he himself describes. It was then decided to consult his own doctor in Paris and he had no good news for the former MX2 world champion. A torn tendon in the right wrist caused Jordi Tixier this pain. An operation was inevitable to repair the tendon. This operation was successful and it was recently announced that the aim is to compete again in the Trentino Grand Prix.
Brian Bogers: Broken & dislocated right foot and ankle – Inactivity unknown
During the press presentation of the new Honda CRF250 machine in early December, Brian Bogers broke and dislocated his right foot and ankle in what the HRC press release called a stupid fall. It immediately became clear that this was not going to be a 6-week break and it was going to be ready for the brand new MXGP addition. However, there is light at the end of the tunnel. From the last message we could conclude that Brian Bogers was allowed to start light, non-load-bearing training and that weight-bearing exercises could possibly be started in mid-March. Encouraging progress! Although it will take some time before we see him behind the starting gate on his Honda.
Arnaud Tonus: Dislocated left shoulder – inactivity unknown
The Swiss dislocated his left shoulder during the timed training of the preparatory match in LaCapelle-Marival. The 26-year-old Yamaha pilot had to undergo reconstructive shoulder surgery after this accident. This happened on February 20 in Geneva at Dr. Gregory Cunningham. It is currently unknown how long the Wilvo Yamaha pilot will be out.
Valentin Guillod: Broken left tibia and fibula. – inactivity unknown
With Valentin Guillod we have another Swiss in the fold. The young man who will compete for Standing Construct KTM this season broke his left tibia and fibula in a crash in training on January 19. An injury that immediately puts a significant burden on his coming season. After surgery and 14 days in hospital, we now have to wait and see how the rehabilitation will go and know when the KTM pilot will see action again.
MX2 pilots
Brian Hsu: Dislocated shoulder – inactivity unknown
The former Junior World Champion 125cc fell in Italy and dislocated his shoulder, without the intervention of third parties, the shoulder of the German Hungarian Taiwanese returned to its socket. This is usually a good sign, but due to the pain the Valkenswaard Grand Prix will be too early. This week the Kawasaki pilot will undergo some tests to see how serious the damage is and whether or not it needs to be repaired surgically, and what his inactivity will be.
Michele Cervellin: knee injury – April 8 GP Trentino
The Honda pilot suffered a knee injury during the Argentine Grand Prix, but like so many pilots sometimes do, he continued to drive with this minor injury. So the following weekend the young Italian competed in the National Italian Championship in Pietramurata, where he scored an impressive fourth place. But in addition to this fourth place, he also took home an aggravation of the knee injury! An incorrect assessment by the Honda pilot that now costs him, in addition to a participation in the Grand Prix of Valkenswaard, also a participation in the Grand Prix of Spain.
Micha-Boy de Waal: Dislocated collarbone – 4 weeks of inactivity
The Dutchman is keen on a good result in his home Grand Prix in Valkenswaard. I crashed during the timed training in the tough conditions we experienced last week. In this fall, the Jumbo NoFear VAMO Honda pilot dislocated his collarbone. With a natural healing process that the pilot chooses, the main message is rest. However, this does mean inactivity of approximately four weeks.
Rene de Jong: Talus neck broken – Inactivity unknown
Rene de Jong rode his first Grand Prix of the season in Valkenswaard, and the second should follow in Spain. However, an unfortunate fall in which he broke his “Talus Neck”, a bone in his ankle, decided otherwise. The injury was operated on the same evening, but he will be out of action for several weeks.
