EMX125: Second heat also goes to Hofer's hand!
The youngsters from the EMX125 championship completed their second series on a very tough Valkenswaard in the morning. The first series was won on Saturday by Rene Hofer, the question was whether the big favorite for the title could repeat this.
The answer was a short and concise yes! The young Austrian dominated the entire second moto and eventually won with a half-minute lead over first pursuer Filip Olsson. This Swede on his Husqvarna was able to capitalize on his strong start with a second place, a nice addition to the fourth place he achieved in the first heat on Saturday. The podium was completed by Petr Polak, who had to put up a tough fight for his place on the podium with home rider Raivo Dankers, who unfortunately fell just off the podium for him and the audience in this first round. In fifth place we found another lowlander with Kjell Verbruggen! Other title candidates such as Emil Weckman finished eighth after a strong hunt for Tom Guyon, who finished in ninth place.
The overall victory and also the first red plate of the season obviously goes to the man who won twice! Rene Hofer scored a perfect 50 points.
