MX Elite: Paturel and A. Aubin take victory in Gueugnon! (+video)
It is not without reason that the French are known as a somewhat arrogant people. Based on their own strength, they have been planning rounds of the French “24MX Tour Elite Motocross” championship simultaneously with rounds of the world championship for several years. Something that is unthinkable for us in the Netherlands or Belgium clearly works for these Southerners. This time they could count on a strong field of participants in both classes, including the Belgian Damon Graulus who competes for the JPM Suzuki team.
Unfortunately, our lowlander did not appear in the competition story, and announced on Facebook that he had messed up his starts twice and that an overtaking yacht gave him a 6th and 7th place. Still, driving did not satisfy him. The one who returned satisfied from Gueugnon was Benoit Paturel, the man on the black bike, who won both heats, ahead of reigning champion Xavier Boog and Greg Aranda. This trio clearly proved to be the strongest on the icy and snowy course!
In the MX2 class the victory went to Arnaud Aubin. Nico's younger brother, claimed second place in the first moto and took victory in the second moto to take the overall victory with 47 points. This for Mathys Boisrame who twice finished third for a second place in the general classification of the day. Florent Richier completed the podium with his fifth and second place. The victor of the first round in the MX2 class; Jimmy Clochet did not score in the second series and that cost him a good end result.
