Flying start for Rick Elzinga!
Rick Elzinga (Team MJC Yamaha) has started the season excellently. The driver from Zenderen immediately finished third in the first race of the Italian 125cc Championship in Riola Sardo. Elzinga finished third in both heats. Italian Mattia Guadagnini (2-1) beat Emilio Scuteri (1-2) for the day's victory.
In the run-up to the new EMX125 season, Elzinga has had a good winter preparation. Rick immediately showed that the speed is good. After all, he took pole during the timed training in Riola Sardo! There would certainly have been more during the heats: “I had hoped for more, yes. But I didn't have my starts and because I was suffering from pumped up arms, unfortunately I couldn't do it anymore.” said the former Zwarte Cross winner.
