KNMV: Everts, Meuwissen, Roosiorg and Nijenhuis win.
The sun did its best, but it was tough in Gemert. The first match of the KNMV Open Dutch Championship was held with a fresh easterly wind and made some people barely recognizable. In the 85cc the Dutch were the favorites, but the victory went to Belgium thanks to Liam Everts. In the 125cc, Raf Meuwissen was victorious while Hardi Roosiorg (250cc) and Luca Nijenhuis (500cc) took the top step of the podium.menu.

In the first round of the 85cc, Everts takes the best start and does not relinquish this position. Scott Smulders chases 'Liamski' throughout the heat, but the Team Beursfoon rider is unable to attack the lead. Dave Kooiker rides a watchful and lonely first round in which he finishes third ahead of Kay de Wolf. He has a problem with his rear brake but manages to limit the damage with a fourth place. The top five is completed by Gebben Racing driver Sem de Lange.
After a first round that did not go smoothly, Kay Karssemakers made the best start in the second round. However, the Team Youth Pro MX rider crashes in the first lap and therefore has to give chase. Everts briefly has the lead, but in the second laps De Wolf takes over the lead and never relinquishes it. Everts comes second and that gives him the victory of the day. Smulders is now good for third place ahead of Kooiker and the very good driving Cas Valk!

The sprint to the first corner is won during the first round of the 125cc by Wannes van de Voorde. However, he crashes in the first corner and has to give chase. Loeka Thonies takes the lead but sees Meuwissen pass on the first lap. Thonies is able to hold on to second place for the first half of the race, but then Raivo Dankers and Filip Olsson pass the rider from Boekel. Just before the final round, Dankers connects with leader Meuwissen and in the final round the Limburger is thanked for his efforts. The BCS rider comes second ahead of Olsson, Thonies and the Russian Maksim Kraev.
Van de Voorde also managed to get off to the best start in the second heat. The FMX4Ever rider is followed by Meuwissen and Olsson. Kraev is able to briefly take third place in the first lap, but Dankers takes over this place after three laps. The Brabander manages to track down his buddy Meuwissen and together they increase the pressure on leader Van de Voorde. The Belgian makes a mistake and that gives Meuwissen the lead, which he does not relinquish despite the pressure from Dankers. In the last lap Dankers makes a mistake, causing Van de Voorde to finish second ahead of Olsson, Dankers and Thonies.

Roosiorg was already the fastest in time training and the Estonian managed to continue this trend in the first heat. Bastiaan Boegh-Damm took the best start, but the Dane crashed and had to give chase. Roosiorg comes out of the first round as leader and this position is no longer in danger. Yoeri van 't Ende managed to work his way into second place for a while, but a mistake set the Team Eccomax rider back. Van de Moosdijk comes second ahead of Carglass Honda rider Freek van der Vlist. After a poor start, Micha Boy de Waal manages to fight back to fourth place ahead of debutant Rasmus Hakansson, who will also play for Pro Grip-MX United this year.
With his 2-stroke machine, Van 't Ende gets off to a great start for the second round, but he forgets to turn in the first corner. Roosiorg takes the lead ahead of Jesper Gangfors and Van de Moosdijk. The Eindhove native quickly manages to pass Gangfors, but Roosiorg cannot easily be outdone. Halfway through the race, the duo in the lead collide and both fall. Roosiorg is the first on his way again and he also wins the second round ahead of Van de Moosdijk and Van der Vlist. With a fourth place, Marshal Weltin lagged slightly behind expectations, although the conditions were not ideal. Someone who is used to having to drive in the cold is Sander Agard-Michelen. The Norwegian finished fifth in the second round at the Wolfsbosch Circuit!

It seems that Sven van der Mierden will become the first leader, but the Brabander goes too wide in the first corner. This allows teammate Mike Gijsbertsen to get inside and take the lead. In the second laps Santtu Tiainen emerges from the woods as the leader and another lap later it is Lars van Berkel, but he also makes a mistake. Gijsbertsen has regained the lead, but the Hutten Metaal driver is no match for Nijenhuis. The rider from Heerde started the race outside the top ten, but halfway through the race he set the pace. Nijenhuis wins the first round ahead of Van der Mierden, Gijsbertsen, Ian van der Kolk and Jarno Derks.
Van Berkel takes the best start in the last heat of this race day, but Van der Mierden slips in with Derks. Nijenhuis comes second from the first round and is able to take the lead moments later. Van Berkel can quickly pass his former teammate, but taking the lead is not an option. Nijenhuis also wins the second round and therefore has a strong debut with Team CKK. Van Berkel comes second ahead of Van der Mierden and Tiainen. The top five is completed by local hero Davey Janssen who manages to send his Van de Laar Yamaha to fifth place!
The KNMV ONK will continue next week, which will take place just six kilometers away at MC Boekel.
