FMI: Cairoli and Cervellin win Italian titles.
During the final of the FMI Internazionali d'Italia Motocross Antonio Cairolli (MX1 Elite) and Michele Cervellin (MX2) secured the titles. Cairoli won the MX1 race at the Mantova circuit for Jeremy Vanhorebeek and Romain Febvre. Tim Gajser had a serious fall, as can already be read on this website. In MX2 Calvin Vlaanderen won ahead of Alvin Ostlund and Iker Larranaga-Olano. Cervellin did not get further than sixth place, but that was enough for the title, Maxime Renaux did not get further than 24e place. Roan van de Moosdijk finished seventh and Brent Vandoninck made his Husqvarna debut with a thirteenth place. Davy Pootjes did not finish. In the Elite final Cairoli won ahead of Febre and Vanhorebeek. Flanders came fifth and therefore the best MX2 rider. In the 125cc I knew Matthias Guadagnini to win by finishing second in both heats. The Husqvarna rider also takes the title, Rick Elzinga won the first moto but unfortunately crashed in the second moto! Despite not scoring, he finished third in the daily rankings ahead of Raf Meuwissen (7-4).
