AMA: Osborne starts best on the EastCoast.
In the AT&T Stadium heeft Zach Osborne successfully defended his 'redplate'. The 28-year-old rider won Arlington the first match of the MonsterEnergy AMA Supercross Championship 250F East Coast. Colt Nicholls starts this competition with a second place James Decotis.
In the first final of the 'EastCoast' things go completely wrong after almost 100 meters, causing a handful of riders to fall to the ground. The main victims of this crash are Martin Davalos, Dylan Ferrandis and Jeremy Martin! The best start goes to RJ Hampshire ahead of rookie Sean Cantrell and Chellen Tennant. Osborne started the final sixth and quickly worked his way up to third place. In the third lap the Husqvarna rider wants to attack Cantrell, but then things go wrong, resulting in a slide. The damage is limited to losing two places, but the chase must be started. Just 15 minutes and a lap into the first half of the match, Cantrell comes into view again. The KTM rider resists but Osborne leaves him behind. The gap to leader Hampshire is almost three seconds, but Osborne quickly eliminated this. A small mistake by the leader causes the audience to sit on the benches. The GEICO Honda rider does not easily give in, but Osborne takes the lead. Half a lap later, Hampshire makes a mistake that causes him to fall. This allows Nicholls, who came out of the first corner ninth, to take second place. The Yamaha rider comes second ahead of JGRMX rider Decotis. Hampshire finished fourth ahead of his teammate Martin, who managed to reasonably limit the damage.
