Team Willemsen escapes unscathed after heavy crash in Italy!
Last weekend we informed you that team Willemsen had a serious crash during a training weekend in Italy. All kinds of wild stories soon started circulating about the severity of the injuries, but Willemsen himself indicated after the crash that he felt good about being able to 'stand' again in Lochem at the first ONK on March 4.
After the crash last Saturday, they quickly drove back to the Netherlands where the painful shoulder was examined this week. There was some fear that Willemsen's shoulder blade had been broken after the hard blow when the mouse came out of the front tire while taking a ramp, resulting in a nasty blow.
Last Thursday, Daniel Willemsen went to the Fractury clinic in Reusel, where it was also found that the shoulder blade was not broken, but had suffered a tear. Fractury staff also treated Daniel Willemsen's three broken ribs with their unique therapy, which should make recovery even faster than normal.
It could even be that somewhere in the country this weekend we will see team Willemsen/Bax at work somewhere on a cross track….
Time will tell exactly how everything will turn out in the coming weeks.
Fortunately, Team Willemsen has escaped unscathed and will work on 100% fitness and recovery, so that in a few weeks they will be at the starting gate at full strength for the first ONK in Lochem!
