TBT: Know the Dijcker the fastest in Goes.
It is #ThrowBackThursday Today we go back to January 25, 2004. In the Zeelandhallen heeft Know de Dycker won the supercross. The Sarholz Honda rider won the final by a large margin before the English Suzuki rider Lewis Gregory and Richard Fitch.
The best start during the final of the Puurse Banden Centrale Indoor Supercross in Goes was for the British Gregory, followed by De Dijcker and Fitch. The leading duo quickly pulled away from Fitch who could not keep up the pace. Gregory seemed to get away for a moment, but De Dijcker came back and quickly launched the attack. This was immediately successful and the lead was never relinquished. Fitch rode a lonely race and finished third well ahead of fellow countryman Adam Chatfield. Chadfield got off to a bad start but rode very well in front of the large crowd. Halfway through he passed Marco Stallmann as if he was standing still because the Yamaha rider is clearly out of control. Marvin van Daele also passed Stallmann without any problems, creating a fun battle for fourth place. Chatfield still won this battle and Van Daele, winner of 2003, now had to settle for fifth place.
