AMA: Musquin wins, Barcia surprises, Roczen clean, Tomac crashes!
In the Angel Stadium heeft Marvin Musquin won the first MonsterEnergy AMA Supercross Championship. The KTM rider won Anaheim about this Jason Anderson and the surprise Justin Barcia! Ken Roczen was back behind the starting gate and the German finished fourth ahead of the strong rider Weston Peick. Not the best match for it So Tomac, the Kawasaki rider crashed as leader after seven laps and did not finish!
In the final Tomac gets the best start ahead of Barcia and Jeremy Martin! Behind Anderson, Musquin starts the final over 20 minutes and one lap in seventh place. Roczen doesn't have the best start and he comes out of the first round just outside the top ten. Martin quickly drops back and Peick takes over third place, immediately followed by Musquin who takes over third place from Peick after almost four minutes of the race. After leading all alone for eight laps, Tomac makes a mistake! The Kawasaki rider crashes and Barcia is able to take the lead. Musquin follows less than three seconds and the Frenchman manages to close the gap in the first half of the race. Then Musquin doesn't look back and he wins the final ahead of Anderson and Barcia. A great match from 23-year-old Roczen. He needs to get into his rhythm but comes back to fourth place ahead of Peick!
