New faces at Mikkola Racing!
During the winter season, the West Flemish MC Mikkola team once again lived up to its reputation as a preparation team for the larger work. To everyone's satisfaction, Glenn Bielen and Killigan Delroeux, among others, found a place in a European Championship team and can now fully enjoy their chance among the big men.
We were therefore looking for some new names to defend the Scoyco colors of the team for the 2018 Belgian Championship. The Junior team can already announce two new names with the 85 cc rider Bryan Maes and the VLM-Beloften champion Matteo Pouffet. Bryan Maes will make his debut in the Belgian Championships in 2018 under the guidance of Mark Boot. The 15-year-old Matteo Puffet switched to the four-stroke in 2017 and will be seen again in the Belgian Championship with the Junior MX2 next season.
The team was also able to announce the arrival of the big boys Kristof Van Vaerenbergh. The 27-year-old East Flemish native is making a bid for the Belgian Championship podium at the Nationals MX2 after becoming French League champion in MX2 in 2016 and narrowly missing out on the title this year with our southern neighbors. An intensive winter sand training is planned for him to be ready in time for the opening of the Belgian Championships in Moerbeke.
In addition to the Belgian Championship, the riders will also compete in France, IMBA and VMCF. The club will again be responsible for organizing two BC competitions in 2018. On April 28 and 29 at the Heeserbergen in Lommel and on Whit Monday at the renovated RES circuit in Axel. All this in collaboration with AMC Evergem.
