KTM USA teams present their pilots and brand new 'weapon'!
On Monday the brand new KTM 450 SX-F FE was presented during the media team presentation in California and we at MXMag were there!
KTM's American teams have been known for longer than today, but the bike they were going to ride with has not. KTM's brand new model looked beautiful, but at first glance little seemed to have changed. Nothing could be further from the truth, new plastic that looks sharper than the previous one, a new frame and a new engine block for even more power. KTM's well-known motto goes as follows, “Ready to race”. They want to take this as literally as possible. With the new Factory engine, the intention is that it can be ridden in competitions immediately. We will immediately see the engine at work during Anaheim 1. For more information about the new features, please consult the data form below. Unfortunately, we in Europe will have to wait a while longer to see the Factory engine at work because it will not be used by KTM Europe at the beginning of next season.
The team presentations were no surprise compared to the new engine, many well-known names returned such as Marvin Musquin, Blake Bagette, Alex Martin, Jordan Smith and Shane McElrath. The most famous newest name on the list was Broc Tickle, so we went to have a chat with him. We asked him, among other things, how he felt about the switch to the KTM Red Bull team.
Broc: “I actually feel very good, this is of course a step forward for me, which puts me in a position where I definitely have to take advantage of it. My goal now is to get better on the bike and make as much progress as possible. Since I got on the motorcycle I also have the feeling that this is working. I have been training in Florida for a month with Aldon, Marvin and Zach. In the beginning it was mainly adjustments, but we have taken some steps in the right direction in recent weeks. I think the Monster Cup and Straight Rhythm are fun events to get used to the bike and the pressure. I also learned a lot, especially the points that I still need to work on became clear during these events. I am now especially looking forward to the next few weeks of preparation for Anaheim and to making even more progress there. Then I will be in the best position to start the season in Anaheim.”
