2017 Throwback: Yente Dourte
One more time we look back on his 2017 with someone, and who better to end this series than our own MXMag test rider Yente Dourte. So now, together with Yenthe, look back on the past year one more time, and find out what 2018 has in store.
2017 is almost over, how do you look back on the past year?
Yente: I look back on 2017 with mixed feelings, to be very honest I wanted to go for the Inters MX2 MCLB title, and I wanted to make a successful comeback after my serious injury in 2016. I had an ideal starting position, but I was seriously hurt again in the second match, and lost all chances of winning the title. After a long rehabilitation, I was back at the start in July, but I never got back to the level I hoped to be. Although I was also able to enjoy my work as a test rider at MXMag this year.
What is your best memory of 2017?
Yente: My nicest memory in 2017? I had many fun moments in 2017, but not so long ago I received confirmation from DIGA KTM Junior Racing that I could do my internship with them as a physical supervisor. This was definitely the best moment of 2017 for me.
What would you like to take with you from the past year into 2018?
Yente: I think I've matured a lot this year. A lot of things have happened, and next year I will also graduate. From July, my girlfriend and I will leave student life behind and opt for the 'hard' working life. Therefore, it will be important that I make mature and sensible decisions next year.
Do you already know what 2018 will look like for you on a sporting level?
Yente: 2018 will be extremely busy on a sporting level. Not as a driver, but as a trainer. I will train a lot with the men of DIGA and the weekends that I have free I will be at the start in the MCLB. I'm really looking forward to going to training camp with the men and then training together during the season.
What are your resolutions for 2018?
Yente: My good intentions for 2018 are mainly to pay attention to my food. Honestly, I'm a real sweets lover and it's hard to resist a good piece of chocolate, especially during this period. I exercise a lot and I try to take good care of my body, so it will be important to also take good care of my diet.
