Lacapelle Marival receives GP toppers on February 18
For the seventh consecutive year, Lacapelle Marival will be the event for MX vans on February 18. Then the motorcycle club of Lacapelle organizes one of the last confrontations for the MXGP of Argentina.
Lacapelle Marival, which is located in the south-west of France, has an enormous track record. The club has already organized several GPs from Sidecar, over WMX to MX3, but also several EMX and French MX Elite competitions. Since the disappearance of the International competition in Valence, Lacapelle Marival is the only major pre-season race in France. Moreover, due to consultation with other European top clubs, there is no longer any conflict with Hawkstone Park.
Some of the racing teams that will visit Hawkstone on February 11 will then travel to Lacapelle where the dress rehearsal for the Argentine Grand Prix awaits them. “Last year we already had a strong field, but it looks like it will be even better this year,” says Vincent Ayroles, an ex-rider and one of the driving forces in the club. “We received very good feedback from the teams in February. Our goal is to do even better next year. In fact, we are in discussions with almost all factory teams. Even though our race coincides with the last round of the Italian Championship, we are optimistic because we have already signed an agreement with Kawasaki KRT, Kemea Yamaha Official MX2, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna and Bud Racing Kawasaki. And more big names will be confirmed in the coming weeks.” explains Ayroles.
As usual in Lacapelle, the MX2 and MXGP riders will start in separate races (two heats per class). At the end of the day, the best riders from each category compete in the Super Final. “Everyone is satisfied with this competition format, which is why we are going to keep it. We will also organize the competition over one day, which will allow us to keep the track in the best possible condition. Both the trianings and the competition will take place on Sunday, February 18.” Vincent concludes. Clément Desalle and Benoit Paturel won the MXGP and MX2 classes respectively last year.
Lacapelle Marival is located in the south-west of France, 80 km south-east of Brive and 180 km north of Toulouse. More information at www.motoclub-lacapelle.com and via the club's Facebook page www.facebook.com/motoclub.lacapellemarival.
