BREAKING: Team HRC with Bogers and Flanders introduced!
Even before the start of the EICMA motorcycle fair, Honda presented its new models and motorsport plans for 2018 in Milan. This also included the long-awaited announcement of Team HRC in motocross. As we wrote before, Brian Bogers (21) is the new teammate of the 2016 MXGP world champion Tim Gajser. The third rider of the team is Calvin Vlaanderen (21) who competes in MX250 on the CRF2RW.
The arrival of both Bogers and Flanders is a result of Team HRC's collaboration with the Dutch HSF Logistics, the new main sponsor. For spearhead Tim Gasjer 2018 will be about regaining the MXGP world title. The Slovenian also spoke about the motivation to have new teammates alongside him: “It's great to be driving for HRC again in 2018. We have already experienced and achieved a lot together. For 2018 we are a young team, all young guys. I think that's good because we all share that hunger to go for it together. I am really looking forward to the new season. I am fit and feel ready. It is also a great pleasure to see all members of the HRC family here in Milan!”
Brian Bogers was of course very pleased: “It is a dream come true to be part of the HRC family. Every time you walk through the paddock, you can't miss Honda's setup. That appeals to the imagination, and now the time has come: I am part of HRC myself! It is very exciting to start riding, the bike looks fantastic. Especially when you see how Tim (Gajser) drives it! I was also on the same team with Tim in 2009, so it's nice to be teammates again. The performance at EICMA was incredible to be on the podium together with Marc Marquez, Dani Pedrosa, the trials and Dakar factory riders. It is a great honor to be part of such a super professional organization.”
