BREAKING: 24MX Honda says goodbye!
The Belgian MXGP team 24MX Honda, the name under which MPL Racing operated, will close its doors at the end of this month. Attempts to establish a stable financial basis for the team unfortunately did not yield the desired results. It is therefore with regret that the team is forced to say goodbye after two seasons of competition.
MPL Racing, which was founded at the end of 2015, competed with drivers such as Damon Graulus, Ken De Dycker, Priit Rätsep, Steven Lenoir and Matiss Karro. Graulus and De Dycker both finished 13th in an MXGP race, the team's best World Championship result. Graulus also recorded several podium finishes in international competitions. MPL Racing is now looking at the possibility of collaborating with another team in the EMX250 or the MX2 World Championship. In this way, the structure would do its part to strengthen an existing team and provide support to talented young riders.
Team manager and owner Marc Boone:“Enabling an MXGP team with ambitions to compete at a high level is becoming increasingly difficult from a private structure. Unfortunately, we have come to the conclusion that it is not feasible for our organization to create a healthy, solid foundation that also guarantees stability in the longer term. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Honda, 24MX, all our partners, riders and all team members for their efforts and professionalism. Of course, we would also like to thank all the fans who supported us.”
