Marvin Musquin King of Paris!!
Obviously, Marvin Musquin's overall victory was anything but. That certainly became apparent today when Musquin and Seely started the final with one sprint victory each to their name. In that final, Seely came up, but Musquin again proved to be too strong!
A successful operation in front of his own audience for Marvin Musquin, who will also start the coming SX season as one of the favorites. For the King of Paris, Seely and Wilson finished on equal points, but Seely finished second ahead of Deano!
The first sprint - each over 10 laps - also went to Musquin. The Frenchman was also the fastest in the superpole. In the second sprint he came up against an impressive Cole Seely. Seely was clearly sharper and faster on the whoops which made the difference.
The duel for places of honor was more interesting. Starting sixth, Cédric Soubeyras won over the crowd by advancing to fourth place. Amid the AMA violence, 'Soub' seemed to be on its way to a stunt. First, the stylish Frenchman was chased by Jeremy Martin, but he had to let Osborne pass halfway through the race. Ultimately, both Osborne and Martin passed Soubeyras. In the final standings, Cédric became the first non-AMA rider!
The Paris SX was also a successful operation for Jordi Tixier. Tixier ends the weekend in 7th place in the SX1 final standings. Not bad at all between the AMA heroes and the full-time SX specialists of the SX Tour. Especially considering Tixier only had limited preparation. For the approximately 40.000 spectators, the SX Paris offered a successful test of what supercross on an American format looks like. That obviously leaves you wanting more. As far as we are concerned, this SX premiere in the U-Arena was one that begs for a sequel!
