VLM: Damiaens and Wouts win in Reetse sandbox!
The former clay pits in the Kerremansstraat in Reet, or 'De Klak', are a household name for many motocross riders. Organizations have been taking place at this location for forty years now and final winner Dietger Damiaens (Dam Racing KTM) can safely call this a classic on his list of achievements! Guest rider Kevin Wouts won both MX2 rounds.
From riders who switched teams or riders to 'PhD students' who moved up the ranks for the first time, the competition in Reet brought a lot of news. Inters MX1 vice champion Jens Van Meer rode his new Yamaha for the first time at the super tough circuit of the Kleiduivels and he immediately enjoyed it. In the timed training, Jens actually took pole ahead of Damiaens, Yannick Heylen and Kevin Wouts.
Damiaens would dominate both heats, but the sympathetic Limburger always felt Van Meer's hot breath on his neck! In the first heat the difference was barely more than a second. Despite a bad day, probably a flu, Kenny Janssens still managed to get a podium (3-3). Just to say that you are doing well if you can still come third on a bad day.
Kevin Wouts was working on the spectacular circuit with a day permit and the former Belgian MX2 champion did not disappoint! Woutske rode his Racing Center KTM to two series victories in the lightest class. Kristof Scheynen and Enzo Aerden were on the podium in second and third.
