The story of: Sara Leyssens
Sara Leyssens won the Belgian JMS women's title last weekend. A great achievement that requires a word of explanation. So read Sara's Story of the Season now here on MXMag!
Sara Leyssens: After being away for a year and traveling around with Dietger. I had decided to start competing again. This time from where I started, namely the JMS federation. I knew there was a chance to become champion, but I still started the season without expectations. I immediately won the first cross, and from then on I was of course in the lead in the championship. After which I never had to hand it over again at any time. I started as a side job in March, and I am slowly building it up. During the summer months it was extremely busy, so I could no longer train and no longer make any progress, while my competitors were making progress. That was a really difficult period, but fortunately I was able to pick myself up and become champion two races before the end. Something I dreamed of as a child but never knew I would ever be able to make it come true.
