Official statement Suzuki Motor Corporation & MXGP
Suzuki Motor Corporation has decided to suspend its participation in the FIM MXGP World Championship and the All Japan Motocross Championship from 2018. This is the first official announcement since MXMag exactly a month ago news announced that Stefan Everts' GRP Team would no longer receive factory support.
Below is the rest of the press release as it was released today: “After an analysis of its operations in the motorcycle market, Suzuki Motor Corporation will focus on its core business and a restructuring of its motorcycle business. As a result, MXGP activities will be suspended from 2018. Suzuki will continue to produce RM-Z250 and 450 motorcycles and support these customers around the world.
Suzuki shows its enormous appreciation for sponsors and fans who have shown their support. The brand further states to offer valued products based on the experiences it has gained in competition.”
