Lupino optimistic about returning to Kawasaki!
After finishing fourth in the Open class during the MXoN, Alessandro Lupino would like to continue that feeling into 2018! Thanks to his new contract with Gebben Van Venrooy Kawasaki Racing team, Lupino is once again on a Kawasaki. In the MX2, the likeable Italian achieved his best results on a KX-F…
Apart from his sixth place in the first Russian MXGP round, there were too few highlights for Lupino this season. Nevertheless, the 26-year-old pilot, ex-Junior world champion, ended his period at Assomotor Honda strongly. Lupino already released a green one in 2013 and 2014. In his CLS Kawasaki years he took two GP podiums. Although there could have been more without injuries.
“I had a great feeling with Kawasaki and I think it was one of the best bikes I've ever ridden,” said Alessandro. “That was a great period in my career. Gebben Van Venrooy is still a fairly young team, but I already have a good feeling about it. Next year I will also spend a lot of time in the Netherlands,” Lupino added. “I will of course spend a lot of time in Sardinia this winter, but it is still important to be closely involved with the team from the start.
Gebben Van Venrooy Kawasaki Racing has confirmed Frenchman Maxime Desprey alongside Lupino for 2018.
