NEW BOOK: MOTOCROSS 1947-1980
Years ago, during the calmer winter months, the story of the history of Motocross appeared in the well-known motorsport weekly Motorgazet, for several years.
Since Motorgazet has been publishing a yearbook every year since 1997 with an overview of the entire motocross season from the World Championship to the enthusiast federations, the idea soon arose to also put the story of the previous history in book form.
A lot of time has passed between idea and implementation, but now the first part is finally available: Motorcross 1947-1980. In the meantime, work is already underway on the second part, which will be called Motocross 1981-1996. With these two volumes and the series of yearbooks that Motorgazet previously published and most editions of which are still available, the entire history exists in book form.
The emphasis of the new book is not on photos but on the story and the associated results. All final positions of the World Championships have been neatly tabulated so that you have a nice overview of the riders' performances from each year. In addition to the World Championships, the Belgian Championship of the Belgian Motorcyclists Association (BMB) is also discussed.
The book has 196 pages, black and white, has a hardcover like the other yearbooks and costs 45 Euro, excluding shipping costs.
You can order it via the webshop at www.motorgazet.be or by sending an email to info@motorgazet.be
