Galvincup Oss: Three out of three for Filip Bengtsson
After a long interruption, the third round of the Galvin Cup took place today in Oss. The first heat was won by Filip Bengtsson, the second by Lars Van Berkel (Diga procross Husqvarna) who also finished second in the day standings. A regular Sven van der Mierden was allowed on the podium thanks to a second and third place.
Despite the overall victory, the Oss round of the Galvin Cup left a sour aftertaste Philip Bengtsson. After all, the JH-MX service driver was in the lead in the second heat and had finished too early! Afterwards it was unclear whether the rider had missed the last round sign or something had gone wrong with the display of the sign. Anyway it was possible Lars Van Berkel taking advantage. And although luck was on his side for the victory, the popular Veghel native showed that he can also handle the 450 well! Van Berkel also took the holeshot in the second moto.
Sven Van Der Mierden (Husqvarna SKS Racing) had taken pole in the morning. Getting points back in the championship was not an option for the number two in the Galvin Cup. Van Der Mierden now follows Bengtsson on 52 points. There are still two rounds to go in the Galvincup, both the competition in Berghem and Meijel will be held in October.
MC Mikkola rider Roy Sillien took a top 10 place on the Witte Ruijsheuvel thanks to a 6th and 12th place.
