BREAKING: Brent Van Doninck replaces Julien Lieber in MXoN!!
Surprise everywhere this morning at the start of the Team Belgium press moment. No Julien Lieber in the team because he has to miss next weekend's Motocross of Nations after a knee injury! The Belgian MX2 rider will be replaced by Brent Van Doninck. As a result, national coach Joël Smets is heading to Matterley Basin with Jeremy Van Horebeek, Kevin Strijbos and Brent Van Doninck.
In the last GP of the season in Villars-sous-Ecot, Julien Lieber suffered a knee injury. Although at first it seemed to be not too bad, further research showed that this injury was more serious than expected. After all, the number six of the last MX2 World Championship tore his cruciate ligaments. To replace Lieber in the MX2, Van Doninck was the most logical choice.
