Season over for Paturel, bad news for Team France!
During a training session at the Villars sous Ecot circuit, Benoit Paturel (Kemea-Yamaha) had a hard crash last Wednesday. He injured his ribs, but the injury to his liver was particularly worrying. After his crash, the sympathetic Frenchman had to stay in the hospital for observation for a few days. Paturel's injury could be a serious blow to the French MXoN team that is hunting for a third consecutive title...
In any case, Paturel's season is over. Benoit himself announced today that he would have to miss the MX of Nations. This is obviously bad news for the French team. After all, the Kemea Yamaha rider had been appointed as a replacement. However, he was selected for selection due to Marvin Musquin's knee injury and Dylan Ferrandis' wrist injury.
Jordi Tixier is also not top fit if Paturel were ultimately unavailable. To fill third place next to Monster Energy Yamaha's Romain Febvre and Rockstar Energy IceOne Husqvarna's Gautier Paulin, Stephen Rubini, Milko Potisek or Mathys Boisramé will probably be looked at. Exciting weeks may await French MX of Nations team manager Pascal Finot! In the coming weeks, Finot and the French federation would decide on a replacement for Paturel.
