2018 Yamaha enduro models
Yamaha is updating both its enduro models for 2018. Both the WR250F and the WR450F benefited from Yamaha's experiences in the EnduroGP. This makes the brand with the crossed tuning forks the only Japanese manufacturer with a real enduro program.
The WR-Fs are distinguished from other enduro machines by their inverted cylinder head. In this way the intake is located at the front and the exhaust at the rear of the engine block. Yamaha claims the straight intake ensures throttle response is more direct and torque is delivered in a more linear manner. Both models also have a wide-ratio (hence WR) gearbox. On the WR250F it is a six-speed gearbox, on the WR450F it is a five-speed gearbox. The mass centralization ensured that the air filter is easily accessible from the top. Furthermore, both machines have an improved clutch, a sealed O-ring chain, an 18-inch rear wheel, 7,5 liter fuel tank, a side stand and a crankcase protector.
