Vsevolod Brylyakov to Kemea Yamaha Official MX2!
Yamaha Motor Europe just announced that Vsevolod Brylyakov will compete on a Yamaha YZ2018F in 250. The talented Russian will join Jago Geerts under the Kemea Yamaha Official MX2 tent. Brylyakov hopes to continue the same momentum that earned him his first Grand Prix podium at this year's Leon GP.
Vsevolod Brylyakov, 22, will be in his final season in MX2 next year. For the Russian, the switch to Kemea Yamaha Official MX2 makes sense. This year he already worked for the British DRT Kawasaki Racing Team, but during the season he is based in Mol, Belgium, less than 20 minutes from his future teammate Jago Geerts and 45 minutes from the workshop in Genk.
Brylyakov rode to win six rounds of the FIM MX2 World Championship this year. He was in the top three three times during the timed training before he injured his shoulder. In the meantime, 'Vseva' underwent surgery and he wants to be back on the bike in November.
Vsevelod Brylyakov: “I'm looking forward to riding with Kemea Yamaha in 2018. It's exciting to know that for the first time in my career I will have factory support. That's one big step forward. The team looks really cool and I believe I can do well on the YZ250F. When I look at the team and Yamaha's complete structure, it all looks very organized and professional.”
Erik Eggens, Yamaha Motor Europe MX Racing Manager: “We are happy that Vsevolod will be riding for Yamaha and the Kemea Yamaha Official MX2 team. In recent years he has proven in the MX2 World Championship that he has the speed. Unfortunately, injuries have prevented him from achieving the results that reflect his speed. He has already been with Yamaha and we have followed his progress ever since. We are confident that with the right support, Vsevelod can achieve its goals. He is highly motivated and at Kemea he will receive the support of a team that has a professional structure and will provide Vsevolod with everything necessary to get the best out of his talent. We look forward to a successful 2018.”
Hans Corvers, Kemea Yamaha Official MX2 Team Owner: “I'm happy that we can sign Vsevolod. He has already shown that he has the speed and talent to compete at the top of MX2. For a number of reasons, he has not yet achieved what he is capable of. I believe that with our complete package at Kemea of a very good YZ250F, Marnicq Bervoets, Jacky Vimond and all the other team members, he is capable of fantastic things.”
