Track check & preview VLM Kampenhout!
Even more than usual, all eyes will be on Kenny Janssens this weekend! The leader of the Inters MX1/MX3 and MC De Bergcrossers will receive the 11th round of the championship at the Grootveldstraat in Kampenhout. It is also about the marbles for the Promised, Newbies MX2, Newbies A and Newbies B in Flemish Brabant!
In addition to the well-filled VLM program on Sunday and the JMS competitions (including regional rider Yoran Moens) on Saturday there are many side activities. That the MC The Bergcrossers This means hitting the bull's eye, as is clear from the interest in the various events. After all, the MTB competition for amateurs takes place tonight in favor of 'Kom op tegen Kanker' place. With approximately 150 participants, the mountain bike relay race is completely full!
On Saturday, in addition to the youth riders, vintage cars, pit bikes and quads will also be discussed. We have a good source that there is also a lot of interest here because about 20 quads have now been registered! If you are interested in more information about the Oldtimer Cross, you can of course contact our colleagues at MXvintage. There are great in-kind prizes with vouchers for the youth, and each youth driver also receives a bag of candy. The big BBQ on Saturday evening is also almost full. Of course, always party with the party on Saturday evening. And Kampenhout wouldn't be Kampenhout without a local touch! The riders who reach the podium on Sunday will take home a bag of chicory, the local specialty.
A lot of organizing to ensure everything runs smoothly, but Kenny Janssens is confident. “It does indeed take a lot of time to organize such a competition. Today we finished the last things, but we have been working on them for weeks in advance. And this week I was on the field every day. That's why I skipped the mountain bike race, just to save myself a little." Kenny winks. The Racing Center KTM rider is there in the interim score good for it though. With four laps to go he has a lead of 40 points over Jens Van Meer, Wouter Van Massenhoven is already following at 94 points. Kristof Salaets is fourth with 272 points.
In addition to the extensive program and the various championship tests, local riders such as Jorre Hemans, Lennert Verhoeven and Joost Alexandre also deserve a pat on the back. Reasons enough to go to the Kampenhout Motocross this weekend in collaboration with JSDimmo to come!
