VMCF: Refuses wins, strong Jonas Salaets!
A decent turnout for the VMCF in Kersbeek with 264 riders. However, nothing has changed in Fréderic Weigert's dominance for the time being. Weigert won both heats, but he was closely followed by a strong Jonas Salaets!
Weigert had to do everything he could to hold off Salaets in the first heat. The experienced Waal eventually defeated his younger challenger. At the finish the difference was barely 2,4 seconds. Dennis Wagemans was also in fine form. Starting second, he only had to let Salaets pass. However, Dennis continued to improve and finished in 4,6 seconds. Roel Geurts finished fourth for Junior Slegers.
Weigert repeated his victory in the second series. This time Salaets stranded at 7 seconds, Wagemans now finished third at 18 seconds from Weigert. Salaets and Wagemans thus completed a very logical podium. In the sparsely occupied MX2 class, Kris Fleerackers (2/1) beat Jeremy Joris (1/2) thanks to a better final series.
